IPMS-Steve Wittman
Our club meetings are on the third Tuesday of each month. They begin at 7:00 PM and are hosted at the HobbyTown USA (807 Oregon Street) in Oshkosh, WI.
Our meetings are rather informal, we go around the table giving each one in attendance the opportunity to do a show-n-tell of what they brought or topic of interest. On occasion we will have a demo too! You don’t need to be a “member” to attend. Though many of our group are members of IPMS-USA, it isn’t a requirement to participate at our meetings. We gather as a group of individuals with a common interest…scale modeling.
Our group is very diverse. All aspects or scale modeling is represented including paper modeling. A couple of our regulars have been in attendance for 25 years. Many also travel great distances to attend our monthly functions as long as the weather permits.
Regardless of your scale modeling interests or skill level, make it a point to attend our meetings. You’ll meet some great folks and establish some long term friendships too.

What can I say…we had a great turnout including a couple of guests…we ate well as usual during these special meetings…though I never got to sample the raspberry dessert, someone else in this household ate mine! Oh well, snooze you lose.

The kitchen was a buzz of activity as Shari and Verna help ready the food to feed this hungry crew. Bob and I tended to the grill to get the brats & burgers and chicken ready. Though getting the house ship shape for these sort of events requires a bit of work on our part, Shari and I are looking forward to doing it yet again later this year. The chili potluck was so successful and enjoyed I think we’ll be doing that again!

After dinner many of us enjoy frozen novelty treats…aka Drumstiks and conversation. David is our resident paper modeler in the group and he shared a couple of his recent projects…including an engine that looked like a plastic kit! With the price of plastic is this the next widespread trend in modeling?
As usually all of the models that were brought were spectacular, I’ll be adding those pictures soon.
See you in August!

That last pic of Troy and me is from last year sometime because I didn’t have either of the two models finished until last fall! Otherwise, it’s cool to see the meeting pics!
