A couple of new tool accessories arrived, so yesterday I put them to use in the workshop. Grex has probably one of the best Airbrush Holders (A) available. This gives me a place to keep and securely hold three (for my setup) airbrushes.
Before this arrived I used a couple of methods to hold my airbrush when I had to set it down to move or do something with the model during the painting session. One was the using two drywall screws to hold the airbrush against the front edge of the paint booth. The other, I sorted through my stash of stuff and found what I believe is a part of an antenna or cannon plug mount.

One sometimes has to use the resources at hand to get the job done. These two “holders” got the job done, but I am now excited about have a REAL airbrush holder!
The other item I have really excited to have to test is a type of Quick Connect (B) also from Grex. This allows one to disconnect the tool from its air supply hose without having to unscrew and bleed down the line. It also features a valve to regulate the pressure! Since I use multiple airbrushes and I don’t have a distribution manifold to feed each one individually from the air source, having quick connects solves that problem nice and neatly.
I must also point out that I used the two holes in the airbrush holder’s mount to screw it to my paint booth. The screw clamp is ideal for mounting it to a table lip or a booth without such a large flat front edge. However this doesn’t render the clamp useless in my case either. I can use it as a holder to clamp parts that are mounted on wooden dowels for painting and drying. Adapt & Overcome! Ooraw.
Check out Grex’s HD-1 Airbrush Holder and their G-Mac Micro Air Control Valve (and quick connect) today!
