When the calendar page changes over from November to December it signals several things. The year is in its last month, the beginning of the first day of winter, Christmas and New Year’s eve. The beginning of winter for some like those of us in the Northern Hemisphere means colder temperatures and snow. It also gives us the shortest day of the year, which is somewhat depressing as the amount of daylight becomes less and less. But once the first day of winter arrives, that trend begins to reverse itself and that is something to look forward to.
Christmas for some has no meaning, in fact those who are not believers in Christ dread this time of year. To those, please accept the wish of a Merry Christmas in the spirit for which it is given…to have a great and enjoyable day! Hopefully it is one filled with happiness and cheer, shared with family and friends!
For those reading this and serving in military service as well as those who are working to serve and protect others, an added humble Thank You! Your sacrifices are worthwhile, without them this holiday season would not be the same and for some it provides the greatest of gifts, more than most can fathom.
The real gift of Christmas is the love and the blessings of family and friends, not the stack of presents under the tree. Today so many use the number and value of items given as gifts as their barometer of what makes for a great Christmas, they are missing the real purpose and meaning of the day.
Something small that we have been able to give care to that has brought us and others a great feeling of happiness and joy…Chippy. Her story and life with us has touched not only us but others as well. She brings a bit of laughter and joy to an otherwise stressful day. She has become a part of many peoples lives. Her life has a purpose, it might just be that daily dose of cuteness but for others she serves as a reminder of home while they serve this nation in military service far away in distant lands and seas. Joy and Happiness are priceless gifts.
Once again, please accept Chippy’s as well as my own wish to you and your family for a Very Merry Christmas!

As one of the most important days in the christian calendar approaches,

Paul
Ditto everything said above. I couldn’t have said it better. As Tiny Tim said “God bless us……everyone.”
May you all have the best Christmas ever!!
