Couple of quick tips for Holding that model. First the simple but always useful clothespin. I like to reverse the wooden parts to make a better and longer clamp that can be augmented with a rubber band to give the jaws greater tension.
Cooper tubing becomes an impromptu handle. I used two pieces of cooper tubing which were inserted into the wheel bays of my E-2 Hawkeye to facilitate holding while painting it. I used a short piece of masking tape to hole the two ends together to make holding them easier on the hands.
