Summer Fun

Things are heating up…well fortunately the weather hasn’t yet (we’re having unseasonably cool and dry weather) but things around homestead and office are.

I’m patiently waiting for the reviewers who are testing our Raptor Sheen on the F-22 kits they are building. I expect their feedback to arrive in the next couple of weeks. This will determine whether or not we go forward with full production. It was also thought this product would do well on the new Iron Man figure from Moebius. Who’s doing one that would like to try it?

july09mtg1Last night we hosted the guys from IPMS-Steven Wittman for our annual club summer cookout/potluck dinner. Visit the IPMS-SW page on this blog for more details about how that turned out.

We’re getting ready for a couple of visitors next week for AirVenture. First to arrive will be Roy Sutherland of Barracudacals fame. He’ll spend Tuesday and Wednesday with me at the air show. Then Greg Drawbaugh of Draw Decal will be arriving to spend Friday and Saturday with me. I be posting of what I see and what I’m doing while at the show throughout the week.

Most importantly we’re working long hours to get Aerospace Modeler Magazine‘s 10th issue to print. The final steps of pre-production layout are nearing completion and final editing/proofing  is already underway. We’re on track to have it to the printer soon and in our subscribers hands just in time for the IPMS Nationals in Columbus.

ss72009aAdd these to all of the other daily, weekly and monthly tasks associated with business, family and civic obligations, means there has been little time to spend at the work bench. Any free time has been used to get out of the office for some exercise by either walking or riding our bicycles. Which I’ve used to take pictures of wildlife and nature’s beauty.

I hope you’re having a fun and safe summer!

Really glad to read AMM will be back in production later this summer. It is a first rate magazine and was one of the best modeling magazines on the rack when it was active. Will look forward to getting my copy late next month.

  2. I am curious how the Raptor Sheen will work with the standard decal protocol of gloss clear -> decal -> flat clear.
